2. Newsletter Subscription

When you subscribe to the KnobWatch newsletter, we process the following data:

Email address
Selected newsletter lists and language preference
Date and time of sign-up and confirmation
A randomly generated token for confirmation and unsubscription

Purpose: Sending the weekly newsletter. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent). Registration uses a double opt-in process – your email address is only activated after confirmation via the link sent to you.

Retention: For as long as you are subscribed. After unsubscribing, your email address is deactivated. You can request complete deletion at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting paul@low-res.de.

Service provider: Emails are sent via Resend (Resend Inc., 2261 Market Street #5668, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA). The EU Commission's standard contractual clauses apply for data transfers to the USA. Privacy policy: resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.

3. Web Analytics with Matomo

This website uses Matomo, an open-source web analytics software. Matomo is self-hosted – no data is transferred to third parties.

Matomo processes:

Truncated IP address (the last octet is anonymized before storage)
Pages visited, time on site, referral source
Browser type and operating system (user agent)
Screen resolution and language

Purpose: Analysis and improvement of the service. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest). Since IP addresses are anonymized and no data flows to third parties, no cookie banner is required.

You can opt out of analytics by enabling the “Do Not Track” option in your browser – Matomo respects this header.

4. Google Fonts

This website loads fonts (Bricolage Grotesque, JetBrains Mono) via Google Fonts from the servers of Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Your IP address is transmitted to Google in this process. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in consistent rendering). Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

5. Server Log Files

The hosting provider automatically collects and stores information in server log files transmitted by your browser: IP address, date and time, page accessed, HTTP status code, data transferred, referrer, and user agent. This data is not merged with other data sources and is deleted after at most 30 days. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

You have the right to:

Access the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
Erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR)
Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)

Withdrawal of any consent given, with future effect
